Houston Fine Art Fair Starts Today!

Get excited for the Houston Fine Art Fair, which begins today, Sept. 9, and runs through Saturday, Sept. 12. This annual fair takes place at the NRG Center in Houston and features a plethora of art shows and exhibits. This is the fifth fair to take place, and this year, it’s expanding to the largest entertainment center in Texas, because of its increase in popularity! Tonight is Opening Night Preview from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday hours are from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. HFAF will provide an international cross-section of works in all media-form, past to present, for art enthusiasts in Houston. This includes modern and contemporary masters, mid-career and emerging artists, and local artists and artists from around the globe.

 

This event is so huge, that all four TV networks cover the event, and in 2014, there were 12,000 attendees! At HFAF, you can expect to find 80 galleries and international dealers from 10 countries. When it’s all said and done, millions of dollars will generate from art sales. This year, attendance is expected to exceed its 13,500 record.

 

For both novice and experienced collectors, HFAF will feature panel discussions designed to educate and invigorate art enthusiasts. It will also include memorable on-site installations and special projects.

 

An example of some of the events to look forward to include Tour of the Houston Artists Hall of Fame from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Reception in honor of the Consular Corps of Houston from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Discover Abstract Surrealist Dorothy Hood from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and so many more.
